I promise to work VERY hard to justify your faith in my abilities. We CAN transform the educational experience for all students in Seattle, so EACH child realizes their potential and is prepared for the 21st century, if we work together as a community towards this one goal – the best possible education for our children.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act defines the arts as a core subject, and the arts play a significant role in children’s development and learning process….however, recent NAEP results found that only 57% of 8th graders attended schools where music instruction was offered at least 3 to 4 times per week, and only 47% attended schools where the visual arts were offered that often.
